3 Essential Oil Blends That Will Get You In The Mood For Summertime

Summer is coming! I'm so excited! What is Summer to you?

To me, summer is a beautiful time of lazy mornings, late nights, good beer, friends and family, and cookouts. Beach trips, hiking, shopping downtown, playing with dogs in the park, and getting projects done that I don't have time for during the busy school year.

Calily Argan Hair Treatment - Soft and Luxurious

Admit it - you looooove doing a good deep condition that does wonders for your hair, right? It's annoying because sometimes it takes hours of leaving stuff in your hair to get the softness and silkiness you crave.

Well not today, girl! I did my hair mask for five minutes.

And the results are off the charts.

Calily's Argan Oil Hair Mask Treatment is a conditioner made from all natural oils and extracts. This product is one I originally got discounted via EDC. I ended up loving it so much I added it to my dash buttons and buy it regularly. It is amazing.

all natural hair oil treatment

The ingredients are all natural essential oils and carrier oils, with no perfume or preservatives.
    Ingredients:

    • Shea Butter
    • Coconut oil
    • Argan oil
    • Vitamin E
    • Rose Hip Seed Oil
    • Vitamin B5
    • Cilantro Extract
    • Geranium Extract
    • Horsetail Extract
    • Shatavari Extract
    • Alfalfa Extract
    • Ginger Extract
    That's it!

There are 3 ways to use the product:

    1. While showering, work into wet hair, leave for 5-15 minutes, and wash out.
    2. wet or dry hair: work copious amounts into hair and wrap in plastic, leave for up to 8 hours
    3. damp or dry hair - after washing, use a VERY SMALL amount and work into hair as a leave-in conditioner.

I've used the treatment in all three of these methods, and I can't tell you which is better. They all work wonders!

My hair always smells incredible, feels soft and silky and luxurious, and is smooth and shiny.

    Enjoy!

    Review: The Black Book

I've read a lot of James Patterson books over the past few years, and this isn't the worst one, but it's definitely not on my list of recommendations for crime thrillers.

The Black Book by James Patterson
    Genre: Crime Thriller
    ISBN: B06WVJ7V8H
    Pub date: March 27, 2017
    Rating: 3

What makes a good crime thriller? A confusing crime scene, interesting characters, a complex plot, and unexpected bad guys.

The Black Book had only one of those: Good characters. Patterson is great at character development and creating vivid dynamic unique characters.

All the rest has really been lacking lately.

Out of 9 CDs of the audiobook, I figured it all out by the middle of disk 3.

So all things considered, if you want a good crime thriller and an exciting court case, try a James Sheehan instead.

*also, why is there a chick on the front cover?

My Wish List - Kitty Edition

We've moved into our new apartment! SQUEEEEE I'm psyched, guys. I love it.

I haven't moved Ariel in yet, but I will after the honeymoon. I want her to love our new home as much as I do!

I was going through Pinterest the other day and noticed just how many cat-themed things I have on my Wish List board (btw Pinterest is a much better vehicle for Wish Lists than Amazon. Just sayin'.)

This Isn't What I Had Planned

It’s 2 o’clock on a Sunday afternoon. I’m sitting on our new (new to us) couch in our new apartment in my pajamas. This morning I woke up without my alarm going off, something I haven’t done in months. I lay in my new (new to me) queen-sized mattress on soft clean sheets with the sun coming through the blinds, listening to birds chirp.

I made a nice breakfast with eggs and cheesy-rosemary bread and peppered bacon, and hot coffee with Irish cream. Lover came over and sat at the table while I cooked, looking like a zombie, but he perked up at the coffee and bacon. After breakfast, we cleaned and chatted, enjoyed a lazy Sunday nap, and he left to go do some work to prepare for the week.

It is now 2 o’clock and I’m sitting on our couch, in my pajamas, cuddled under a seriously soft blanket and watching the birds out our window.

This was not the weekend I had planned.

I Am Way Too Sober For This - How I Survived Wedding Planning

Yeah I know, I'm not even married yet, the wedding is 14 days away (what's that, you want to send us a gift? here ya go). I wanted to share a few tips on how I'm getting through these shenanigans.

    1. Decide what is most important to you, and spend your money there. There are tons of lists and graphs and breakdowns that tell you how much you should spend and what percentage of your budget things should be, but we didn't follow them at all. In a budget of $2500, we spent $1500 of it on our photographer, because that was more important to us than party favors or a DJ or even my dress (which I made).

    1. Never measure vanilla extract. Vanilla should really be splashed or poured. And when you know, you know. ;)

    2. An extra egg yolk never hurt anyone. Want dense rich amazing cake or cupcakes? Throw an extra egg yolk in there. It makes the texture richer.

Whispers of the Heart - Run To Me

One Sunday, in church, I wrote a song. I was sitting and not really listening, when suddenly certain words and phrases kept hitting me. It was like God was specifically saying "Hold onto this, you're going to need it in your future."

    And boy was He right.

There have been days when I've needed to tell others to run.

There have been days where I needed to heed my own advice and turn from my sin and fall into the arms of my Savior.

There have been days when I felt like I was all alone, and that I was useless and worthless and how could be possibly forgive me.

And there have been days where I've said to myself, "No way, I can't go back to Jesus. I'm too much of a mess."

    ^Now that's just bad doctrine.
